My Dearest Alicia, At half past eight in the morning we had to be at the train station because there we had to take the train to London. We arrived at Waterloo Station and it was like a chaos. There were so many strange people there! I think I was a little afraid or stressed because I didn't want to get lost or be stolen. We went all the time in small groups of five and we used the underground to go from one place to the other. Our first visit had to be St Paul's Cathedral but as we had to pay too much to go in we just looked from the outside. I was very surprised that they make people pay to go into a "holy" place. Then, we went to the Tower of London. I was so impressed because of the size and the magnificence of the Tower and the bridge, which was quite incredible, too. One thing in particular called my attention: the crows, which were so big!!! (the teacher told us the legend of the crows and the monarchy). Of course we couldn't leave London without visiting the Big Ben! So, after lunch, we went to Westminster Bridge where we could have a great view of the Big Ben and the river Thames!! We took a lot of pictures of the most famous clock in the world. And afterwards, we went to Piccadilly Circus. There you feel you ARE in London!! Then, we walked up Regent Street to Oxford Circus (shops, shops and more shops!!). The teachers left us some time for shopping in Carnaby street, where I bought a dog collar but not for Honey, my dog, but for me! It's blue with little silver prickles on it. I also wanted to buy a green and fashionable bag, but we had to go so I hope I can find it in Portsmouth. The way back to Portsmouth was so long and boring that I didn't know what to do so I put myself to sleep. I'm waiting for dinner now and I only have to wish you good night. Lidia |
