Dear Alicia, How are you, my friend? I'm writing to tell you that we have finally arrived in Portsmouth! Doesn't it sound exciting? I know that you were very enthusiastic about this trip, I know that for sure, and it's a pity you couldn't come. How I wish you were here! It's been our dream since we were little girls! Don't you remember those times when we said we were going to become famous stars and travel all over the world? So... I've decided I'm going to write this diary for you, telling you everything we do in England and so, when you read it, you'll feel like if you had been here. First of all: the journey! It was my first flight! Uau!! It was super! We travelled by British Airways and it was like being in England in advance! They even gave us lunch! I didn't eat anything, though, because of my nerves. When we arrived at Heathrow, a coach was waiting for us and brought us to Portsmouth, because you know that Portsmouth is a southern coastal town and it is about half an hour's drive from London. When we reached the town there were only a few persons waiting for us
( as you know, we had to stay with a local family to meet English people
and practise the language). The teachers from the language school asked
for taxis which took us to our new homes. When I arrived at 54 Hewett
Road my legs turned to jelly! I couldn't believe that I was standing
there, looking at the front door, being about to ring the bell
Mrs Boyce opened the door and my heart went off my chest. Suddenly,
every single word taught by our teacher went away and I didn't know
what to say! I only smiled nervously and answered "yes" with
my head to all her questions. Now, I'm in my room, waiting for dinner-time
(18:15 is very early, isn't it?). There are two fat cats that do not move from their comfortable sofa,
completely covered by their fur. Well, I think dinner is ready. I'll
continue later, ok? ... Hey, I'm back! I've never eaten so much in my life since that competition
we had to eat as many Big Mcs as we could! Your attention, please, to
my dinner: a mini pizza, a cheese hamburger, a dish of pasta and some
salad!! I couldn't, I couldn't, but the teacher told us not to refuse
anything and have a proper behaviour. I'm sure Mrs Boyce thought I was
starving!! I repeat: I wish you were here.. That's all folks! See you tomorrow
